The very detailed sets, and meticulous arrangement of everything in the picture, including the composition is like something out of a Wes Anderson film... except without the constraint of a film's typical aspect ratio! ...More specifically, TheRoyalTenenbaums, as that's got plenty of books, ornaments, and similar composition to go by (surprisingly, a live-action film, not animated).
The room is also neatly divided into three parts, top-to-bottom, giving this nice sense of hierarchy in the composition. The random gaze points from each characters gives us a sense that there lots of things to look at. Usually, this'd be a bad thing, but has its use here. Yeah, it almost does feel like being contained in a huge box filled with the universe in it. A very, very huge box, and we are its observers, wandering, and gazing in awe.
